A rate card lays out your standard pricing for different types of deliverables in advance, saving considerable time in early conversations with potential brand partners who want a quick, clear sense of cost before committing to a longer discussion, particularly when the workload starts to pile up, a habit that quietly protects a longer career.

Base your rates on a combination of factors, including audience size, engagement, niche and production effort required, rather than copying a single number you happened to see mentioned somewhere else without any real context behind it, even when the temptation to skip it is strong, a lesson that usually arrives through direct experience.

Revisit and adjust your rate card periodically as your audience and skills genuinely grow, since a rate card left unchanged for years can quietly undervalue a creator whose work and reach have both improved considerably since it was first written, which rarely feels urgent until it suddenly does.
