A misleading claim, even a small and seemingly minor one, can quietly undermine years of carefully built trust the moment an audience discovers the gap between what was promised and what was actually true, a small shift that adds up over a long career, which is truer the longer you keep at it.

Overstated claims often arrive from genuine enthusiasm rather than any real intention to deceive, but the impact on trust remains largely the same regardless of the creator's original, well meaning intent behind the statement, particularly when the workload starts to pile up, even when the temptation to skip it is strong.

Building a habit of careful, honest language, particularly around results, benefits and outcomes, protects a creator's reputation considerably more reliably than any single piece of especially persuasive but overstated content ever could, a lesson that usually arrives through direct experience, which rarely feels urgent until it suddenly does, something worth testing for yourself over time.
