A brand brief contains far more useful information than most creators initially realise on a first quick read, and taking the time to read it slowly and carefully reveals expectations around tone, deliverables, timelines and approval processes that genuinely shape the entire working relationship ahead, particularly for anyone still finding their footing.

Flag anything unclear before agreeing to the work rather than assuming it will sort itself out later, since a quick clarifying question at the start saves considerable frustration and potential conflict much further down the production line, even if progress feels slow at first, a habit worth building sooner rather than later.

Compare the brief against your own genuine capacity honestly before committing to it, since a brief that looks reasonable on paper can quietly demand far more time and revision than a creator initially expected when they first agreed to take it on, which tends to matter more than it first seems.
